Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh
Former Vice-Chancellor, National Law University, Delhi
Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh is the former and founder Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Delhi established by the Delhi Government in 2008. In just a short span of 12 years he has steered NLU, Delhi which has been ranked as the 2nd best law school of India in the NIRF 2018 rankings. It's the acknowledgement of his administrative and leadership abilities that NLU, Delhi is now recognized not only in India but also at the international level.
With over two decades of experience in heading the law school he carries the aura of a visionary who as an outstanding statesmen and academician shown immense commitment and contribution towards changing the legal education landscape of the country. Prior to his stint in NLU, Delhi, he was the founder Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR, University of Law, established by the Andhra Pradesh Government and had been at its helm since its inception in 1998. Prof. Singh's acumen took NALSAR to great heights as a well-known premier institution for legal education and research in the country. He has been a Vice-Chancellor for over 20 years now.
Prof. Singh had a long association with Kurkshetra University, first as a student, a Ph.D. scholar and as faculty member in its Department of Law. In 1978, he moved to Maharshi Dayanand University at Rohtak as part of the founding Faculty and continued there till 1996 in various capacities as Professor, Head, Dean and Proctor. On invitation from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, he served as Professor of Law at NLSIU during 1996-97.
Prof. Singh's contribution in redesigning legal education in the country has been significant being a member of the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India. His legal writings span the areas of Jurisprudence, Human Rights, Legal Education, Legal Aid, Personal Laws and Justice Education and has more than 50 research publications to his credit. He has edited two publications one on "Human Rights Education, Law and Society" and the other on "Cyber Space and the Law Issues and Challenges". He has also authored along with Prof. A. Lakshminath two scholarly publications, one on 'Fiscal Federalism Constitutional Conspectus' and the other on 'Constitutional Law'. Under his guidance several scholars have been awarded Ph.D. Degrees and his rich teaching/research experience enabled him to visit and participate in several International Conferences and Seminars and present papers in several countries like Australia, Brazil, Bhutan, China, Taiwan, South Africa Cyprus, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Pakistan, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Russia, Germany, South Korea, U.K. and United States of America. He has visited best of law schools in U.K. and USA and interacted with leading legal academics and functionaries of higher judiciary in these countries.
Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao
Former Vice-Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bangalore
Prof. (Dr.) R. Venkata Rao, born on 15th March, 1954, was the Chairperson, Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS) and Vivekananda schools of English Studies (VSES), in Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS), New Delhi. Prior to this he has served as the Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. In NLSU Bangalore, he has joined as Vice Chancellor on 11th May, 2009. After the completion of his 1st term on 10th May 2014, his appointment as Vice Chancellor has been renewed for another five years from 11th May 2014. National Law School of India University, Bangalore is the premier center of Legal Education. After serving for ten years two months and twenty-one days as Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) R Venkata Rao has laid down the office of Vice Chancellor, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru on 1st August 2019. After having relocated to Delhi, Prof. Rao has assumed the office of Chairperson, Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies and Vivekananda School of English Studies (Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, New Delhi) on 16th September 2019.
Prof. Rao's academic qualifications are B.A. (Hons.) Litt., M.A. (Litt), M.L. and Ph.D and LL.D (Honoris Causa) 2017-Utkal University. He was awarded Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon Best Law Teacher Award for the year 2018. Prof. R. Venkata Rao has been awarded the Attorney General K. Parasaran Award in recognition of his Outstanding Scholarship in Legal Education by Capital Foundation Society, New Delhi on 1st September, 2019. To date, he has 42 years of teaching and research experience. He has the distinction of serving the Statutory Bodies of almost all the Law Schools in the Country. Besides, he is a member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi. He also served as Member, Governing Council Indian Law Institute New Delhi and Member, Academic Committee, Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. He has served as Independent Director in prestigious Public Sector Undertakings like, Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), Bangalore, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), Bangalore, Goa Shipyard Ltd, Goa. He is also a member of different committees in Bar Council of India and is associated with prestigious bodies like UPSC, State Service Commissions, UGC and NAAC among others.

Prof. (Dr.) S. C. Srivastava

Prof. S. C. Srivastava obtained his LL.D. (Doctor of Laws) from the Calcutta University, and has a privilege of being the first LL.D. in Labour Law in India. Prof. Srivastava is presently Honorary Distinguished Professor, School of Law, Sharda University, Greater NOIDA, Visiting Faculty, Birla School of Law, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, Secretary General, National Labour Law Association, New Delhi and Advocate and Legal Consultant in New Delhi (India).
He was awarded a distinction of National Fellow/National Professor from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi (India) (1990-92). Prof Srivastava was the Member of the Sectoral Innovation Council appointed by the Prime Minister of India to review Labour Laws and Member, Advisory Board on Child Labour, V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, NOIDA. He was also the member of Task Force for recommending measures to eradicate child labour particularly for the enforcement of the CLPR Act, 1986 and member, National Child Labour Implementing Scheme of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Professor Srivastava addressed has addressed World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in San Francisco. He was also invited by the Parliamentary Standing Committee to make presentation on Code on occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Bill, 2019 in December, 2019.

Prof. (Dr.) Khushal Vibhute, who is a recipient of distinction at the graduate and post-graduate studies in law and of Fellowships from the Hague Academy of International Law, Hague (the Netherlands); the International Institute of Human Rights, Strasburg (France), the UN Human Rights Centre, Geneva (Switzerland), and Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public & International Law, Heidelberg (Germany), is Professor of Law & Director, Amity Law School, Amity University Maharashtra, Mumbai, Honorary Professor Emeritus, National Law University Jodhpur, and Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, WB National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata. Professor Vibhute, whose biographical sketch has been included in Who’s Who in the World (USA:1999-2018); Great Minds of the 21st Century (USA:2001); One Thousand Great Asians (UK:2002); Outstanding Scholars of 21st Century (UK: 2002); Leading Educators of the World (UK:2005), and Who’s Who in Asia (USA:2007; 2017), has been Professor of Law at various Universities of repute in India and abroad, including the University of Pune, Pune (India); National Law University, Jodhpur (India); Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur (India); Addis Ababa University, Addis Ababa (Ethiopia); the University of Technology MARA, Shah Alam (Malaysia); National University of Malaysia, Bangi (Malaysia); Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, Brunei Darussalam (Brunei), and Bremen University, Bremen (Germany). Prof. (Dr.) K. L. Bhatia

Prof. (Dr.) K. L. Bhatia (25th January 1945), B.A. (Hons.) (J&K); LL.B. (ILS, Pune), LL.M., Ph.D. (Pune), was a former Head and Dean, Faculty of Law and founder Director, The Law School, University of Jammu; Director Amity Law School; and founder Dean and Professor Emeritus, COLS University of Petroleum and Energy Studies; Professor of Law, National Law University, Jodhpur. He has travelled in India and abroad in pursuit of academics. He has over four decades of teaching and research experience. He has authored and edited books on varied research subjects of law, both doctrinal and heuristic, including a book of poetry in both Hindi and English, and about hundred research papers published in leading legal journals of repute in India and abroad. His book on Moot Court and Mock Trial Art to and Art of Advocacy: Essentials of Court Craft (2013) is the first scholastic evinced attempt in experiential learning law. His books on Legal Language and Legal Writing, Legal Methods, Reasoning and Research Methodology, 2014 have been popular amongst the lawmen. His recent book "Supreme Court: Expounding Transformative Jurisprudence in India The Genesis of Law, Justice and Morality, 2015, espouses the analogy of Justices of the Superior Court about the Constitution of India that is a fine document of intellectual activism written in broad as well as prolific approach with splendid blissful wisdom of its framers' poetry in prose style of majestic language, which was intended not to be a seasonal textual document but was, indeed, intended to endure to bind Indian Nation State's posterity through ages. His recent book "Constitutional and Legal Status of Jammu Kashmir", 2015, examines in depth the utility and relevance of temporary and transitory textual constitutional provision engraved in Article 370; Article 35A. A Mishmash of the Textual Constitution; utility and relevance of UNSC resolutions in the present scenario. His areas of interest are Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights, Legal Language and Legal Writing, Legal Method, Legal Reasoning and Research Methodology. He has delivered extension lectures on Legal Research Methodology and Legal Writing as a Visiting Professor at Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; International Taxation Law and Tax Negotiation Treaties, and International Trade and Economic Law as a UNDP Visiting Professor of Public Law in Africa. He is a man of three "Ls", viz., Law, Literature and Life. He is recipient of ICSSR, UGC, J&K State, UN and ILO Human Rights fellowships. He is a DAAD and Max-Planck Fellow and Alumni.

Mr. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu is a renowned Chartered Accountant, Educationist, Social Worker, senior Politician & Parliamentarian in India.
In 30 years, Mr. Suresh Prabhu had 10 important cabinet portfolios at the federal level in Govt of India including Industry, Power, Environment & Forest, Railways, Civil Aviation, Commerce & Industry, Fertilizers & Chemicals. He has also served as the Prime Minister’s Sherpa to the G7 & G20 and was involved in shaping the official agenda of the Government of India on critical issues for G7 & G20 Summits.
He has been in the Indian Parliament from 1996 till date – first as a Member of Parliament in the Lower House ( Lok Sabha) for four consecutive terms and later as an MP in the Upper House ( Rajya Sabha).
During his tenure, he was known for his “Out of Box” thinking. He has scripted many reforms and effected organizational transformations.

Suresh initiated the development of India’s New Industrial Policy with a focus on boosting sustainable manufacturing in India and created an action-oriented plan to diversify the economy further and promote future sustainability. He laid out a plan for increasing India’s exports.
The first-ever Global Aviation Summit was held under his leadership. He was the main contributor to the Nation’s UDAN initiative.
He held several portfolios under Prime Minister Vajpayee from 1998-2004 as Minister of Industry, Minister of Environment and Forests, Minister of Fertilizers & Chemicals, Minister of Power, Minister of Heavy Industry, and Public Enterprises.
One of the most notable achievements of Mr. Pabhu during this period was the reforms he brought to the Indian Power Sector. He is credited with championing and enacting the Electricity Act of 2003 and creating securitization of dues from the provincial states of India.
He had also served as the Chairman of the Task Force for Interlinking of rivers which envisioned physically linking the vast river network of India to provide needy year-long irrigation facilities to India’s dry regions. He was also an elected member of the World Bank Parliamentary Network and chaired the South Asia Water Regional Group of the World Bank.
His other experiences include being a Member of the United Nations Commission for Biodiversity & Land Use Change, the Global Advisory Council of the WEF, Chairman, the Maharashtra State Finance Commission, and the Council on Energy, Environment, and Water.
Suresh Ji is known for his transparent, forward-looking, and comprehensive reform-oriented governance.
He has been featured amongst the top three Indian leaders of the future in the cover story, “Giant on the Move” (Sept 2000 issue) of the Hong
Kong-based Asia Week Magazine. He was declared “Best Member of Parliament in 13th Lok Sabha” in April 2004 by Aaj Tak, a leading TV Channel in India. He also ranked 2nd best performing Minister in India Today’s report (dated August 27, 2001) on the performance of key Minister of Govt. of India.
He has been awarded honorary doctorates, by Universities within and outside India.
He has been tirelessly working on a holistic and replicable model of rural development in more than 2000 villages. His life has been devoted to social service, and he has engaged with various NGOs and Social Organisations.
On the international front, He has been a significant member of renowned global NGOs being a Chairman of Asia Energy Foundation, South Asia Chair of Global Water Partnership, and President of the World Forum for Global Governance. He has also been a member of the United Nations
Commission for Biodiversity and Land-use Change, and the Global Advisory Council of the World Economic Forum.
He is currently the Founding Chancellor of Rishihood University, Chairman of the drafting committee for National Cooperation Policy, and the active visiting Professor at the National Institute of Advance Studies & the London School of Economics and political science.
